In the Meiji era, the Myazaki prefecture had been divided into the Miyakonojyou and the Mimitsu pref. Mimitsu was the seat of prefectural office, of economy. Here was the base accumulated timber,charcoal,fuel for Osaka or Kyoto. Afterward Mimitsu have become desolate according to overland transportation's development. Nowadays many old shipping argency and commercial houses remain as they were 100years ago.
